RE: Problems w/rv.net

Beginning last night I have not been able to log on to this forum through rv.net. Says "forums down for maintenance". Anybody else experiencing this problem? However, I am able to log on to the forum through trailerlife.com and. I seem to have this problem with RV Net also, but not all the time, I also seem to have a problem with the new format Good Sam website/forum too, when moving around the pages it seem to drop me down to a empty part of the page and I have to arrow up to get the topic. I know that thay are sorta tied together in a way but differant in others.

RE: Patio Mat Storage

I put it in the trash bag and put it in the pick up truck bed.

RE: Throttle Control

When I pull a hill I do as you do, taking it out of CC. I find that whatever you put on a throttle to regulate the speed it will eventually have to be changed again and again, you cant beat the foot for good regulation of manual speed control when pulling a hill it's almost automatic, brain to foot, you can feel when it starts to slow down the slightest and needs more pedal.

RE: $2.99 fuel cost

As with Chrysler, the cost will be included in the price. Indeed, they'll make money selling you a fuel discount. I heard the same thing, the price of the truck is not negotable either from what I heard.

RE: Dish Network

A little nuggett FYI. If you have a Dish HD DVR your programing info is stored on the hard drive. It can be unplugged for as long as you like without losing your personal stuff. Some more good information, Thanks. That DVR is starting to look better every day.

RE: Dogs in TT/Fiver while moving

I think it would depend where the dog crates were placed in the RV to determan the type of ride the pet will get. But for sure it is not in the back of the trailer. We have only one dog and he travels up front with us, he's part of the pack so he has to ride with us.

RE: Dish Network

We have Dish Network, and we bought an extra receiver for the FW, being we are not "renting" that receiver, but own it, we can activate and deactivate it all we want at the rate of $10 per month ($5 plus $5 for programming access fee for no phone line). So if we go on a week trip it only will cost us $2.50. The only thing I wish I had done differently would to have bought the DVR dual receiver instead of the 322, we miss the ability to pause, etc. I dont think the DVR receiver will be able to withstand the constant movement that the trailer has, they have a hard drive in them simular to a computer, there is also a warning label on them not to move them for 2 or 3 min after shutting down the reciever to prevent damage to hard drive, thats why I didn't buy one, the fear of that kind of damage. I didn't know that Dish Net charged to reactivate the receiver once it was part of the account receiver family. If the unit is un pluged for a long period of time it has to be reprogramed dosen't it, at least mine do.

RE: Dish Network

The problem is... IF you are very far from home you may loose network television (NBC, CBS Fox and so on) in the RV, These are spot beamed (Think of a spot light shining on an area that includes your house.. Same thing exactly a spot light is a spot beam) To get network back you have to 1: Pay more and 2: pay it to another company and 3: Tell THE OTHER COMPANY you are using the receiver in an RV. That being the ONE receiver that is actually IN the RV (You don't actually move anything, Just change the class on the account) After 250 miles you loose all your regular local broadcast, our FCC made the satellite providers do this, another stupid idea from our law makers and officials.

RE: Dish Network

I have a receiver in the RV and it's $5.00 per month it is on my main account as another receiver. the only inconvience I have is that when it has been unpluged for a long period of time I usually call Dish Net up to reprogram it and that takes only a couple of min's.

RE: My new Wheel Chocks thanks to my dad's handywork :-)

Very nice job I do have a question about the construction. Your picture shoes the outside just beautiful, I can't see if your dad has a matching set on the back side of the all thred. so a total of eight wedges are being used is this correct.

RE: pacific coast highway

The term "Pacific Coast Highway" is used to refer to two different roads - CA 1 and US 101. CA 1 is not recommended for a rig your size. I drove a good portion of it in my PT Cruiser and there were parts of it that I'm glad I wasn't any wider. US 101 is fine for the largest vehicles. I disagree with your comment " CA 1 and US 101. CA 1 is not recommended for a rig your size." I have a 35 ft. 5er and pulled by my TV and it exceeds 50 feet, I have taken my RV up quite a bit of Hwy-1 and US-101 granted there are a few areas that are not recomended for large rigs like Big Sir area, I have found the only problem is, if on Hwy-1 and you see a place that looks interresting parking can give you a challange. But all up through the Red Woods worked fine for my set up A 40 ft. Moterhome is a piece of cake through 80% of Hwy-1.

RE: Excursion photos with Re-adjusted Equalizer

It looks wrong! The WD bars should be with the A frame. Suspect your ball mount angle is not right or your bars have to light a rating or they are cranked up to tight. The top picture looks like they are not parralel to the A frame but look at the second picture, It looks very even to me. The only thing I see is when the TV is loaded with the kids and stuff, will the angle change very much?

RE: Excursion photos with Re-adjusted Equalizer

Well it looks like you have it all dialed in, When I had to do that to my old Komfort, I found a gas station that was closed and used his slab behind his station where he used to have a alignment rack. some times a person has to be creative.

RE: What happened to the Good Sam Website

From what I see it's a new format, and not user or member frendly.

RE: lower MPG w/ULSF

Yep mine went down to and it has a different smell when burned compared to the old diesel. It doesn't figure, less mpg, so you use more diesel to get to your destination. so even though I burn less pollutants per gal of fuel, so in the long run it would seem I'm putting the same amount of pollutants in the air.

RE: OMG, Not Good!

How many copies of this are going to be posted on this site alone before the moderators stop it. There are at least 6 on RV.net alone. Ken First time I've seen it. Probably because I dont spend enugh time in the internet and the forums.

RE: OMG, Not Good!

I was wondering the same thing about the children, I didn't see anybody get out before the roof collapsed on the truck, That was a Everest 5er too about 12 to 13 feet tall. what a shame. I only got to see only about the first 30 seconds of the film it stopped after the roof collapsed and destroyed the camera
